Farro + Turkey sausage dinner
* reccomendation: Look for sausage brands that are lower in sodium (less than 500mg if possible) and less that 8% in saturated fat
Brand: Al Fresco chicken sausage (red pepper)
Hillshire farm Turkey smoked sausage

Time: 30 min
servings: 2
​
2-3 servings turkey/ chicken sausage
3/4 cup farro
1 cup water (add more if necessary)
cilantro
chickpeas/ garbanzo beans
black beans
​
1. In small pot, bring water to boil and add farro. Set to low temp and cook until soft.
2. in pan, heat up sausages until well browned ( no oil necessary)
3. wash beans thoroughly and lightly dry with towels to remove excess water.
4. Add beans and cilantro to rice
5. cut up sausage into coin size and put on top of rice.
